After a standstill during the long illness of Pope Francis this Lent, metropolitan episcopal appointments in the U.S. have begun to pick up again, with new archbishops being appointed in Omaha and Kansas City in the last two weeks. Cardinal Timothy Dolan is now 75 and will be replaced soon. But by whom? Several possible candidates are worth noting.
