In the spirit of synodal “listening” and parrhesia (free, bold and open discussion), I want to raise several questions concerning the synodal process so far — questions that are critical of certain aspects of the synodal process, but which are directed toward how to make synodality more properly understood by the faithful. The questions I wish to raise can be summarized under three headings: Definitional clarity, pastoral analysis, and theological orientation.
