12 Tricks of the Antichrist, According to Ven. Fulton Sheen

Archbishop Fulton Sheen was one of the great evangelists of the 20th century, taking the Gospel first to radio and then to television and reaching millions worldwide.

In an amazing radio broadcast on Jan. 26, 1947, he explained what he thought the 12 tricks of the Antichrist would be. The “Antichrist” is a figure discussed in the New Testament who will lead many people away from God.

First, Archbishop Sheen dispels myths about what the Antichrist will look like.

“The Antichrist will not be so called, otherwise he would have no followers. He will wear no red tights, nor vomit sulphur, nor carry a spear nor wave an arrowed tail as Mephistopheles in Faust.”“Rather,” Archbishop Sheen explains, “is he described as an angel fallen from heaven, as ‘the Prince of this world,’ whose business it is to tell us that there is no other world.
