A group of young people in Argentina is inspiring thousands online with a stunning mosaic of Jesus—made entirely from plastic bottle caps.
The massive artwork recreates the iconic face of Christ inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, using thousands of carefully arranged caps to bring the image to life.
The project was shared on Instagram by art teacher Sebastián Ramírez, who accompanied the post with the phrase “Soli Deo Gloria”—Latin for “Glory to God alone.”
The mosaic was created by students from Instituto Nuestra Señora de Lourdes in Buenos Aires. Their dedication and attention to detail transformed simple recycled materials into a powerful image of faith.
Ramírez expressed his gratitude and awe at the students’ work:
“Art [made] with bottle caps representing the most iconic face in the history of humanity, the face of Jesus at the Last Supper, by Leonardo da Vinci. Very blessed to see so many young people creating a work of art of this magnitude.
Thanks be to God, thank You, thank You, thank You. Amen.”
This isn’t the students’ first creative project. In previous years, they’ve also produced impressive mosaics honoring Pope Francis, Salvador Dalí, and Lionel Messi.
