SAN DIEGO — The St. Thérèse of Carmel Choir will present its annual Palm Sunday Concert at 3 p.m., April 13.
The free, public event will be followed by a reception.
This year’s program includes John Rutter’s “Requiem” and settings of Psalm 42 by Giovanni Palestrina, Felix Mendelssohn and Healey Willan.
Completed in 1985, Rutter’s “Requiem” integrates both the Latin Requiem texts and English Psalm 23 (“The Lord Is My Shepherd”) and Psalm 130 (“Out of the Depths”).
Under the direction of Catherine Marshall, the choir will be accompanied by concert organist Emma Whitten and a group of professional instrumentalists. For over 20 years, the choir’s Palm Sunday concerts have offered a spiritually reflective experience and set the tone for Holy Week.
St. Thérèse of Carmel Parish is located at 4355 Del Mar Trails Road, San Diego 92130.
