Transitional Deacon Dixie Ballesteros Hernández of the Archdiocese of San Pedro Sula in Honduras could not contain his emotions as he distributed the Body of Christ to the faithful immediately after receiving Holy Orders.

Deacon Hernández is studying for the priesthood. A few weeks ago, he took an important step toward fully fulfilling his vocation: he was ordained to the transitional diaconate. The ceremony occurred on March 1, 2025, at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
One moment deeply touched the faithful: when the newly ordained deacon appeared visibly moved while distributing Holy Communion. Unable to hold back tears, the faithful consoled and supported him.
