The Beauty of the Desert and the Salton Sea, Pilgrimage in Imperial Valley

Join us for the Diocese of San Diego’s Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation, a powerful opportunity to witness our call to care for our common home, contemplate the gift of God’s creation in the beauty of the desert, and pray for greater commitment to the promotion of integral ecology and human flourishing, responding to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.

Such action marks not only the 10th year of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ encyclical on “Care of our Common Home,” but also the Church’s Jubilee Year, which calls us to be “Pilgrims of Hope.”

You are invited to join as a volunteer host/helper or as a walking pilgrim. All programming is open to our Imperial Valley Catholic Community.

This pilgrimage to the Salton Sea represents a powerful opportunity to witness our call to care for our common home, contemplate the gift of God’s creation in the beauty of the desert, and pray for greater commitment to the promotion of integral ecology and human flourishing, responding to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.
