The image revealed by an ultrasound is often enough to help a pregnant woman decide against abortion and protect the life of her child. The technology is a great asset to the pro-life cause.
“Light and Life Mobile Ultrasound, Inc.” is a charity whose goal is to bring “turn-key” mobile ultrasound facilities to qualified pregnancy resource centers throughout the United States. As they note in their mission statement, “We embrace Mobile Ultrasound for its essential reality – it is, indeed, a God-given instrument of Light and Life – which reveals the truth of the humanity of the unborn child and empowers the mother and father to stand up for life, whatever their circumstances, and to travel the road of light and life, of truth and salvation.”
The Knights of Columbus at St. Therese of Carmel will be hosting a Pro-Life fundraising event Saturday evening, Dec. 17, in partnership with the Light and Life organization. Funds raised at the dinner and silent auctions will go toward the purchase mobile ultrasound units to support pregnancy resource centers.
