Miriam Lancaster’s story sparked “outrage” after she shared that she was offered medical the option of suicide after arriving at a Vancouver, British Columbia hospital with back pain. “The first person that I remember coming to speak to me was a young lady doctor. And this is where the story begins,” Miriam Lancaster recalled in an interview with EWTN News Nightly. “The very first thing she said to me was, ‘I would like to offer you MAID.’” That’s the acronym Up North for “Medical Assistance in Dying,” in other words, assisted suicide or murder. “No, thank you,” Lancaster said.
