SAN DIEGO — Parents are invited to a practical, faith-centered conversation about recognizing if their child is experiencing anxiety and stress, understanding when ordinary worry may be something more, and learning how to respond with compassion, reassurance and appropriate support.
Sponsored by Good Shepherd Faith Formation and Parish Mental Health Ministry, the event will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, in the parish hall at Good Shepherd Parish in Mira Mesa.
It will be presented by Maria Tiamson-Kassab, MD, DLFAPA, FACLP, and is intended to assist parents in helping their children face anxiety, stress, school pressure, perfectionism and worry. The conversation will explore how faith can be a source of grounding and hope while working alongside professional care when needed.
The event is for parents of all grade levels, from elementary through high school.
