Rupnik, the ‘primitive’ artist, friend of Pope Francis, and former Jesuit, has had an inordinate influence on contemporary thinking in the Church and is a reminder of the core teachings of the Faith. Unfortunately for Rupnik, his work highlights Church teaching by virtue of the way his work contradicts it. Rupnik is a warning, a portent, and a pillar of salt for our age.
