In light of the theological and Christological foundations of Holy Orders, the Church’s practice of reserving the sacrament to men is not a limitation but an affirmation of divine revelation and the sacramental nature of her mission. This practice reflects Christ’s own actions and the apostolic foundation He established, which serve as the unchanging standard for the Church’s faith and practice.
